The Hotel Does Not Rent Rooms to Local Residents
Background:
Based upon past events, the Hotel has fairly and rationally determined that renting rooms to individuals who reside locally (i.e., within 25 miles of hotel) poses a reasonably avoidable increased risk to the health, wellbeing and safety of hotel staff, guests and property.
The exceptions to this determination are guests who rent rooms at the Hotel: (i) based upon an emergency (e.g., a fire at their residence and a need for emergency lodging); or (ii) the fulfilling of a lawful duty or service (e.g., an essential worker).
Policy:
The Hotel will not rent a room to an individual who resides within a 25 -mile radius of the hotel.
The Hotel will publish the notice on relevant distribution channels (e.g., the Hotel’s website) such that the public has reasonable notice of the policy.
The Hotel will check identification documents of guests and confirm the guests’ residence addresses for the uniform application of the policy. If a potential guest requests an exception to this policy (e.g., based upon an emergency or fulfilling of a lawful duty or service), the Hotel reserves the absolute right and discretion to decide the exception based upon evidence requested from and provided by the guest. Any such exception shall only be made by a member of the Hotel’s management.
This policy will not be applied in a discriminatory manner – decisions will not be made based upon a person’s race, religion, color, sex, disability, national origin, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by law.
Management reserves the right to amend this policy from time-to-time in its sole discretion. Amended:12/14/2021
